Burg clarifies, "The title of the movie is Saw 3D
"The Traps Come Alive" is simply a tagline. Koules notes, "It's a tagline that was added in and misinterpreted. Most of our movies have taglines. One of the things we talked about during the campaign - especially with shooting in the 3D process, the traps really do come alive and we wanted that clear in the campaign. But the title of the film is Saw 3D
Directed by Kevin Greutert, the producers say part seven was the right time to introduce 3D into the franchise. "We talked about doing six in 3D, but the technology wasn't there to meet our needs. We like to shoot these movies tight, fast and not long shots. Technology caught up to us and we took the movie and literally designed traps for the 3D." Koules says it would have been too cumbersome to call the film Saw VII 3D
and wouldn't have the impact they wanted to make. "It was such a process in 3D, so much hard work was put in. Saw VII 3D
is too much. This is like a new movie. There are, I think, eleven traps in this movie. To have that many traps, it's just a completely different experience for the hardcore fans."
